Youth

SHTX Youth members enjoy riding together, learning at clinics, competing at shows and helping with certain events. Often SHTX youth ambassadors are available to help members unload or assist at shows when needed. The Youth meet at least once annually to elect officers and establish goals for the youth association. SHTX Youth also help with clinics, such as the free Stock Horse Trail clinic offered each year at the Texas State 4-H Horse Show.

New for 2021!

SHTX knows the youth are the future of our association and the equine industry. In 2021, we are committed to enhancing the opportunities of SHTX youth through leadership experiences, community service opportunities and fun activities!

SHTX Youth officer elections will be different this year. Officer positions available include:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Social Media Coordinator
  • 2 At-Large Delegates

With a new focus on leadership for 2021, we are asking all youth interested in serving as a SHTX Youth Officer to fill out an Officer Application. Youth must submit an Officer Application by April 2, 2021, to be placed on the election ballot.

Be sure you read the requirements and duties of each office, as well as the SHTX Youth Code of Conduct policy.

Voting will be by paper ballot at the youth meeting in Lubbock.
